US military chopper crash witnessed by 20 kids

A US military helicopter crashed on Okinawa on Wednesday, witnessed by 20 elementary school students. The crash site is 300m from the school, which has more than 700 school kids.

Most of the School kids heard loud noises and at least 20 saw the helicopter coming down on their first day of school.

The school asked their kids to express their feeling the next day, and nearly 1/3 of the kids say they coldn't sleep at night. One of the kid says "parts of the wreckageis located 50m from my house".

Too bad for those kids. This kind of thing can be hard on them. I can still remember seeing black smoke pouring from the site of a F-16/C-130/C-141 crash near my home years ago. Some of my friends had parents involved in that tragedy.

Hopefully they can evantually put it out of their minds.

This is old news. It was a United States Marine chopper, I forgot which type and it was working with us in the Pacific Ocean near Okinawa where it went down. If I can remember, no deaths, but 3 crewmembers were okay and it crashed into a University in Okinawa.
