"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

Is the ferry that your dad inspected the one that goes from New London to Long Island?
No, he was the inspector for the one for Alaska. It was built in Bridgeport at Derecktor Shipyards.
                        Derecktor Ship yards!!!
Well as I told babypurin, I am also from Westchester County, (the county babypurin purin lives in) and the town im from is called Mamaroneck. Anyway in Mamaroneck they have Derecktor Shipyards, is this the same as the one your dad worked at, or do they have another location in Conneticut?

                                Born in Barranquilla, Colombia 08/15/1981

Moved to Bogotá on November 1984 (mom made her medical intership there).

Back to Barranquilla in July 1985, and stayed put until August 1988, when my mom got a job as a physician with the government-run communication workers' HMO in their Pereira office.

Lived in Pereira until December 1991, when I moved back to Barranquilla, in anticipation for my mom's medical residency on ear, nose and throat in Brazil, which fell through.

In Barranquilla until January 1993, when I moved back to Pereira, until finishing high school, and it was back once again to Barranquilla in January 1999.

Lived and attended college in Barranquilla until December 2000, 3 months after being issued an immigrant visa to the United States.

Came to the US in December 18, 2000, and it seems I'll be here permanently, although I could split my time between the two countries once I retire (if I ever do so, with the ever-increasing retirement age ).

                                So, let's make a summary:

                                Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia 08/1981-11/1984
                                Bogotá, DC, Colombia 11/1984-07/1985
                                Barranquilla. Atlántico, Colombia 07/1985-08/1988
                                Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia 08/1988-12/1991
                                Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia 12/1991-01/1993
                                Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia 01/1993-01/1999
                                Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia 01/1999-12/2000
                                St. Louis, Missouri, USA 12/2000-

How am I at the mile log??? :P
