  • Kerry Supported by the US Communist Party!?!?

I received the following as an e-mail...

    GUESS WHO'S ENDORSING JOHN KERRY????

The Communist Party of The United States of America, CPUSA, is publicly supporting the election of John Kerry.

No, this is not a typo...you read it correctly. The CPUSA has made available on its Web site, www.cpusa.org, an advertisement entitled Top Ten Reasons To Defeat Bush. This advertisement can be downloaded. The communist party urges readers to place this ad in local newspapers throughout the country to defeat President Bush.

Remarkably, the "Top Ten Reasons" of the Communist party are identical to those of the Democratic party; out-sourcing, homosexual rights, abortion and the like.

It was discovered that one of Kerry's campaign themes is "Let America be America Again." This slogan was borrowed from a Communist poet, Langston Hughes.

    And your point is?

I hate it when people blame politicians for the support they get - what if Fidel Castro suddenly started to publicly support GWB, would that be GWB's fault, too?

I agree. Anyone can support a politician. But in no way does it reflect on the Politician that a "bad organization" may be supporting a canidate. Like.. im sure the KKK loves BUSH.. but that doesnt mean that Bush is a racist.

Like when people blamed Bush for those Swift Boat ads a few weeks ago?

The what? I'm from Europe, dunno about every aspect of that mud-slinging match called a "campaign". Were those ads the ones from some Vietnam Veterans group, basically saying Kerry was nothing but a liar about his Vietnam accomplishments?

They blaimed him because he didn't denounce them. He let them run and didn't say anything.

And you can't control who supports your party.
It's not like John Kerry is a member of the communist party. (Although I'm sure you'd like to make it seem like he is)

                Good for Kerry. More votes.

Who says he has to agree with his voters on everything?

I know, but I don't really see how this is dirt. I'm sure GWB is supported by groups that aren't very popular.

Oh now there's a backing you really want to be associated with. I can see the commercials now,

"Meet the Challenge! Fight for peace, equality, democracy and socialism, We're the American Communist Party and we're for John Kerry, "I'm John Kerry and I support this ad"

                    Dam Pinko slime!!!

I though the CPUSA had self-disbanded decades ago the same way as the British Communist Party. Gee, not only it's alive, but it can afford keeping up a web-site. Now that the USSR are history, it would be worth interesting to see who backs them ; individuals, fellow european parties etc

Dude, cold war ended quite a while ago. Honestly I'd rather our leader be a commie than a liar.

                            Good point for you
                            Cold war is over, but
-claiming to be a commie in the States is still like being a curiosity at best
-the party leaders as far Europe is concerned are often the same
-if no longer in business, their successors still serve the same dishes
-the party platform often remains un-changed
-they are often liars anyway especially when being fully fledged members of the Nomenklatura.
-they pretend you to be equal while in fact they make sure you can't see them once in office, travel first class, own expensive houses and get more money than the entrepreneurs they use as their sweet banes when fishing for votes

In my opinion, the fundementals of communism are actually pretty sweet if they worked, but unfortunately they dont. Paying everybody the same no matter what job they work truely makes everybody equal, but it also provides no motivation to work hard, and there's always a few that still end up raking in the dough while everybody else suffers. In theory, its a good idea, but its impossible to get it to work.
