Just thought I'd share these...
While not anywhere near as impresssive as waterfalls in some other places, northeast Wisconsin does have quite a few nice ones...
Last week the wife and I went on a day trip and visited about 7 or 8 of them...these are all roughly in a 50-mile area north of Green Bay, just south of the Michigan border. Nice trip, and I got to try out the 300D on some scenery/nature subjects...
Here are some of the sights...
Small rapids on the Peshtigo River...this is at a locally well-known fly fishing area.

This is at Veteran's Falls, a nice two-stage waterfall in a county park. This is the higher of the two falls...

McClintock Falls are a real shallow drop, more like rapids than a waterfall. Still, it is the site of another impressive county park...

I love scenes like this on the access road to McClintock Falls Park.

Strong Falls is in yet another county park, very nice, complete with cabins you can rent within a stone's throw of the falls. Would be a very relaxing "camping" trip...

Here is a good sized crayfish...more or less a freshwater lobster. This specimen was about 7" long.

Here is a bald eagle we spotted on the way to the next park. We saw lots of wildlife as we were in a bit of "back country" on winding dirt roads in the middle of nowhere.

Twelve-Foot Falls in another nice county park (gee, imagine that)...

By far the best waterfalls we saw all day were Dave's Falls, which actually has two drops with a wide "lake" in between. This is a view of the upper falls.

And more spectacular is the lower drop, which is in a rock-lined chute. You can literally sit above these and dangle your feet...or do as I did and foolishly climb down for a better photo.
Looking down from above:

And looking up from below (well, eye level anyways):

We didn't have time to get to all of the waterfalls in the area, there are probably another 5-10 left to visit.
Saving that for the next trip.
