    your fav. european city

    1. "Hamburg, meine Perle, wunderschöne Stadt, du bist mein Zuhaus', du bist mein Leben, bist die Stadt, auf die ich kann, auf die ich kann."(Lotto King Karl).
I'd say my choice is quite obvious.

    2. Rome: Beautiful and magnificient city.
    3. Paris (if ignore the French attitude towards Germans)
    4. Athens: Traffic is a disaster, and so are noise and smog, but the Parthenon and all other historical sites make Athens a must-visit.
    5. Amsterdam: Nice Coffeeshops .

you evidently didn't travel much either

For me its a tie between Munich and Innsbruck I think. Salzburg is a close second.

Haven't been to Europe so I really don't have an opinion.
Perhaps someday when I can afford it.

The big European cities didn't really impress me as much as the smaller ones did. You can't really compete with Heidelberg's charm.

Rumor has it that a major Allied general (I forget his name) visited Heidelberg before World War II. He liked it so much that he ordered it not to be bombed. Needless to say, the orders were followed.

The castle was incredible, especially in the evening and at night.

The city itself was beautiful as well. The restaraunts and stores were charming and unique. I can still remember going Christmas shopping on the Haubtstrasse.

(Not my pictures, by the way)

Aloges, you will enjoy Heidelberg. I still miss it each and every day, and I left it over three years ago.

I have never been to Europe.

From what I have heard, Florence, Italy sounds like my kind of town, though.
