Mt. St. Helens-possible eruption

New activity has been ongoing inside St. Helens' crater. A small explosion is possible.

Whatever it is, hope it's a small event. This country could do w/o another major natural disaster.

Not good . Still, this would probably be less bad than a possible explosion of the Yellowstone caldera.

I was under the impression that it was dormant

St. Helens is considered active although it most likely won't go BOOM like it did in 1980. The explosions now would be much smaller and not likely cause any seriously problems outside the general vicinity of the volcano.
