When I was in COS back in July I thought it was pretty dodgy! The views of the mountains are pretty nice and the area around the Colorado College campus was nice but most of the rest of the town was kinda blah. Downtown was nothing special.
The dodgy part came in when I was a witness to a bar fight involving 5 overturned tables, 20+ overturned chairs and involving at first two, then four or five, then over ten participants. Three times I had to run away from the bar while the fight escalated and the bartenders sprayed water on the crowd. This took place at what was supposed to be the best bar and dance club to go to downtown. It was one of those "Hey meign! He fvck you up meign!" sort of fights, if you catch my drift.
Of course right before I was in Colorado Springs I was in Boulder which is very scenic. The UC Boulder campus is very nice and the surrounding neighborhood and downtown area is very clean and very ornate. One of the nicest places I've been to in this country actually. With it being such a beautiful place I can definitely see how they can recruit the athletes there. Well, that and the hookers.

Boulder is also very entertaining if you spend some time around the Perl Street Mall and do some people watching!! You will likely see some very interesting and entertaining people there!!
I do think both Colorado Springs and Boulder are very scenic places, but a place I really liked when I saw it was Woodland Park in the mountains west of Colorado Springs.

Definately. Boulder's downtown was actually alive while Co. Springs' was sort of so-so.
