A true tragedy that has yet to be fully understood by the West.
Actually Israel is dismantling its illegal settlements in Gaza and the West Bank. Not that those settlements' inhabitants agree, but Sharon said it is the only solution to finally reach peace.

I was talking to an Israeli friend the other day, and he says about 90% of the people over there are fed up with war. They want to live in peace. So that means things might be changing....which actually is very good.

Once again, Kerry saw the same intelligence that Bush did and drew his own conclusions from it.
HAHA, only in your wet dreams!

John Kerry would only have seen what we saw, which was absolute bollocks.

By the way, communisim can work, if other countries are open to it. Cuba has one of the highest literacy rates, best healthcare because the option to be a retard is taken away. If Cuba didn't have all these sanctions, I think it would be doing extremely well. Unlimited freedom isn't always the best thing. For example being forced to go to school, that is better for the nation and the people as a whole, where if people had choice, they could and do, make the wrong decision.

Anyone every see the George Bush joke thats not really a joke on Letterman?

      Botswana!

On the soldier thing, they are all taught from very early on that the President is the Commander in Chief (I think thats the term) They are taught to respect his decision's and follow them without question. The soldiers aren't really allowed to say 'Like Fvck, dickhead' when asked/told to go to war.

George Dubya is an idiot, it's his advisors that 'prop him up'. When he has to do something on the fly, what happens? five minutes between words.

He needs to go back to his ranch and ride horsies all day. Yeeeehaaawwww!

I hate politics. All it is for the most part is people who side with one group or the other and being completely closed minded to the group that they dont support. All these elections are is a god damn show, people say what they think people want to hear, not what they actually believe. Both candidates are major douchebags, but I do agree that the lesser of the two douchebags is Kerry. Simply because Bush lied and got a bunch of people killed for it. I'm with Clovis on this one, I was for the war when I was being told that there was "evidence" that Sadam had WMD's and was going to use them. They have the information, I dont so who am I to dissagree? One would like to think that they can trust their leaders, but evidently we can't with this one. Now on the Iraq issue, we broke it, we need to fix it. We can't just bring all of our troops home as much as we would like to. We elected the redneck, he was representing us, he screwed things over, we gotta take responsibility and not be a bunch of pansies and leave. This will just turn Iraq into what Afghanistan was with the Taliban only potentially much much worse. I do think one thing that would help is to do what Kerry said and somehow convince the Iraqis that we dont have long term goals in Iraq. The problem with that is that Bush probably does have long term goals in Iraq, and that Kerry might just be saying this because its what people want to hear. Once again, I hate politics, nothing but a bunch of selfish lying bastards out for self gain.

I want to officially declare that all the Australian members that have spoken in this thread so far have their heads hopelessly far up their asses!!!

Longreach 747 is the worst. He seems like he's taking his talking points straight from the Communist Party of Australia... or Michael Moore, who seems to revere...

          Now, this is a keeper:

And I'm sure pigs can fly, Torin...

A system that violates Darwin's laws of evolution (trying to make humans all equal) is bound to fail...

The truth of the matter is that we're at war against Islamic extremism, bent on establishing a global caliphate and impose its particularly twisted view of Islam to humanity.

There wasn't a need for Saddam to use the WMDs himself. He could've just simply sold them to any terrorist group for the right price.

He also was a WMD himself against his own people.

It was the right decision to neutralize Iraq, whether you agree with it or not.

And those who talk about the soldiers wanting to come home: They're serving the US honorably, and I'm thankful for their sacrifice. Sure there are a number of malcontents, but they don't speak for the majority of soliders. After all, it's voluntary service, and no one forced them to join the Armed Forces.

And for those that have given their lives, I'm absolutely sure they haven't given their lives in vain.

Pigs can fly, strap a rockeft to one and watch em go!

Anyway, Communisim does work one of the few factors that doesn't allow it to work, is other countries. Cuba is the best example, It's not the 'oppression' of the leader, its the oppression from governments of countries like America.

In quite a few ways most countries are Communist states, yea you elect a leader, but how many decisions do they make that you actually get a choice in? How many bribes are payed, or how many people are coersed into voting for something the leader wants? You have as many restrictions as the people of a communist state. A communist state takes away the option for bad judgements (obviously as long as the leader/s actually give a shit about the country as a whole). In Cuba you have to go to school and know how to read, resulting in the highest literacy rate in the world, is that a bad thing? If a leader cares, then the right decisions for the peoples well being are made.

Most countries you're not even allowed to burn the national flag, thats not freedom.

Oh, man... I just peed myself laughing at that sh*t!!!

Man, you have a promising career in comedy.

If you show me a single state that has been both Communist and democratic, I'll give you some credit.

But in the meantime, let me keep on laughing...

get some facts or sources, your good for nothing, go read! read the articles idiot, they are not all by Michael Moore, 1 was a newspaper article about letters sent to him, get INFORMED! read the links i posted or atleast try to.

you may have talked to soldiers, you didn't go to iraq and talk to those on the front line NOW!
Actually, I have talked to soldiers who have returned from the front lines in Iraq, and guess what? They support BUSH. I would post the article from MilitaryCity.com, which was published in the Army Times, the Air Force Times, the Navy Times, and the Marine Times, but the article is only available to online subscribers who pay a fee for the access to the web site.

The military doesn't like Kerry because of his record of voting against military weapons systems. They also don't like him because of his anti-war activities after Vietnam.

Also in the article, a poll indicated that 76% of soldiers deployed for two or more months since 9/11/2001 are backing Bush, while 17 % are backing Kerry. The remainder are undecided or support Nader.

How many US soldiers have you talked to recently? Any? When was the last time you were on a US military base? My point is, trying to argue with me about this is like me arguing with you about the weather in Australia, or wherever you are at the moment. There are some things that people experience firsthand, and you can't really debate with them about those things, because they were there for them, they experienced them, and you didn't.

                      That should be "LIARS".

I think everyone needs to read Joe's post again...

Every time there's a thread about politics on JP, supporters of both sides pull out a ton of different "proofs" and try to convince the other side. If you haven't noticed...it's never gonna happen.

This thread illustrates one of the world's primary problems...

Nobody wants to get on the same page and fix problems, all people want to do is choose sides and blame the other for all the problems...and people on either side refuse to accept the fact that those on the other have a different opinion...

I think it is human nature for this to happen...
                        Oh well. Politics.
Personally I can't wait until all this election BS is over and done with for another 4 years. By the time election day rolls around you are well and truly sick of it.

WMDs, and our secondary reason was to free the Iraqi people. Yes, intelligence was wrong, but that was hardly the fault of Bush and Cheney.
