Are you sure the article is accurate? It sounds like a joke to me.

i think its just if your looking at child porn, it wasnt a front page one, just like a side on. 1 paragraph.

If it were child porn, it would be the police and not the ISP coming to your door to confiscate your computer, not just a phone call to say "ah yeah, we notice that you are looking...".
No ISP would call you to ask that, it serves them no purpose except to alienate the customer and NO company will want to do that. I worked at a large canadian ISP for 4 years and fully 60% of ALL traffic through the servers was porn! Think about it, how many of you live in a house where absolutely nobody ever looks at porn. No company has the manpower to make that many calls. They'd be calling my place nearly every day.

You'd be surprised how EASY it is for an ISP to monitor your surfing habits!

Actually, I can do the same right here from my desktop to any user connected to the local "hub" of my ISP. It's as simple as using a "sniffer" program ...

Anyone who uses "Privacy" and "Internet" in the same sentence is just fooling themselves I'm afraid. When surfing the net, you can pretty much guarantee that someone/something is monitoring.

And as far as the ISP contacting a user for surfing porn ... there's nothing they can do about it! You're a customer who pays for a service (internet connex, bandwidth) and you are free to surf LEGAL sites at will ... porn isn't illegal (in most places)!

If it were then I'd get the chair ...
