Might have posted this in the aviation discussion, but it's so ridiculous it's almost . Anyway, got this link by incident. It's about aguy in Longmont, CO, who has mad like 200 complaints about noise in 2002/2003, with some of them being as ridiculous as complaining about the noise of ultralights, or because light planes flow close to his property . Certainly worth a read:
back home we had a similar thing. My parents live on an air force base in japan and we have a flying club. Whenever someone is out there in a 172, this guy who lived off base used to constantly call the flight training center and complain about the noise. Yet a C-5 comes in and no complaints. This guy would call every 30 seconds, even after we hung up on him.
Yeah some people have no life...
We get the same crap on the railroad...all the people who move into those new subdivisions on what was farmland for the last 100 years suddenly realize that there are trains there and they make noise.
Personally, if I was going to buy a piece of property somewhere I would make darn sure to do my research and find out things like noise levels, etc. before making the purchase.
To buy something next to a railroad track (or an airport) that has been there for 100 years and then complain about the noise is assinine.
some people just dont get the fact that if you live near an airport, there is going to be noise. i personally dont mind it.
I don't either, and to be honest I didn't really mind it before I started having an interest in aviation. Granted, for about two weeks each year it can be hell here (KOSH), but you just learn what places to avoid and when to go to the others.
Most of the locals here appreciate the yearly airshow, and in my neighborhood everyone runs outside to see what the big noise is when something unusual shows up.
You shoulda seen the linup over at Basler when they parked that Primaris B752 there for the press corp with Bush's visit... Pandemonium.
The best part? Everyone was smiling.

You should blow the whistle continuously when going through their areas to piss them off

Ding Ding you get the "good idea" post of the week..... (see I can be fair to)
Not the exact same situation but people that move onto golf courses and have houses that back up to the course and then complain that golf balls from people (not me I hit them to stright ) hit their house
