Yeah--they changed the name and moved the stadium out of the ghetto. Now it's 3 blocks from the ghetto.

It is seriously an awesome stadium. Same architect as the Durham Bulls' stadium.

My favorita is the Round Rock Express. Round Rock is about 30 minutes north of Austin, TX. It's owned by my hero, Nolan Ryan. It's an Astros AAA team. Plus I got to play a softball game on their beautiful field with Nolan Ryan pitching to me. (I went 3-4 and scored 3 times ).

The Iowa Cubs. AAA for the Chicago Cubs. They play at the newly renamed Principal Park:


There is a nice view of downtown from inside the park. The tallest building the Principal Financial Building. The one with the vodka bottle shape in it is the EMC Insurance building.




The state capitol building is the one out from center field.

(Needless to say...)People like the team because that's where they live and they have a connection to the team, their friends support it, because they know someone on the team.

Honestly...ask someone from NY who they want to win the world series. Chances are they will say the yankees because that's where they are from.

A person is more likely to support their home team than any other...

Rome Braves (The Atlanta Braves lower "A" affliate, formerly the Macon Braves) , the closest minor league team to Atlanta.

In terms of creativity in the team name, I got to go with the Montgomery Biscuits.
