They are not meteorites unless they hit the ground, in the atmosphere they are meteors.

The aurora have a nice green hue here right now... cool looking stuff!

Nothing here in NJ...Pete, probably nothing in PA as well.
"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

Surprising...maybe it was more towards the central and western parts of the country.
          Spaceweather.com sez:
"At its peak, the storm produced Northern Lights as far south as Oklahoma and California in the United States".
So it must be a east/west thing rather than north/south.
Keep your eyes peeled tonight too, as another salvo arrives from the sun and should also cause a solar storm. If I see anything tonight I will post it here...

I'll keep my eyes peeled but I really highly doubt seeing anything this far south!

Ok, new solar storm just starting up. Activity increasing...

And I have clouds right now...but they will be gone in an hour or two if the forecast holds.
