    This is a really cool thread, it seems like the Aviation lovers are infrastructure geeks like me too.....anyway, here are the stats for Kansas City
    Population
    Kansas City: 450,000 (pardon the rounding)
    Metro Area: 1.8 Million Growing and loving it

    Here are some photos of the expressways leading into town:



    At the eastern tip of the Atlantic City Expressway, at the city limits. The rail terminal/convention center complex is visable at the right, and the exit for it is right behind the picture. East of here the expressway continues about 1.5 miles through the city into the Marina district.



    On the US-322 Expressway approaching mid-town



    At the city limits. Past here, the road becomes an expressway into the city center.



    Just had to throw this one in. My exit of the Atlantic Expressway. I live about 10 minutes from here.
