My Pontiac Bonneville requires a $3000-$5000 engine rebuild/overhaul and as the fact that it's 17 years old it does not warrant that. So as the engine essentially is destroying itself every time I drive, I am car less. So I have lost my first car. R.I.P. 1987-2004
I just want to know what my next car will be. Christmas time is a good time to require a gift.
If you are going to buy a car, buy it new. Otherwise....find a way to get $3000- $5000 and get a new engine rebuilt or find a cheap used car for that price which won't do anything good unless you do a lot of preventative maintainence on it yourself.
Greg, you're still in high school and really...at your life now, you do not need a car unless if you are working. I didn't get my first car til I was 19 and had a well steady paying job to afford it and a garage to maintain it.
I got my first car when I was 29 .. It was given to me Nov4,2004
I used to live downtown and have no real need to drive, walking or biking would get me everywhere I needed to go.
For work, I took the bus. But started to get quite annoyed with people and their cell phones .. It took one rather large woman going on about her sex life some time last year to make me get my drivers license!
Sucks doesnt it? You probaly will get something better anyway. As far as what Kev said, my first car was a 1998 Dodge Stratus. It had 114k miles and I got it for 4 grand, including tax title and registration. I never had a problem with the car and drove it for a year and a half untill the opportunity presented itself for me to get a Jeep Wrangler. So just look around and you can find a good deal.
