  • Scary weather in the "beautiful" Southeast!

Well folks, there you have it!!

It is currently storming outside. I have seen this creek we have near school flood the bus lanes, and delay the buses for roughly an hour. There have been tornado warnings like MAD!!!! OUr school's portable classroom students were evacuated into a building's hallway. ATL is getting ready for some nasty weather!

Where I live has constantly recieved numerous lightning bolts (in fact, one tree around .5 miles from my home was hit; the road it fell on was closed til 10 AM). This fueled the rush hour traffic like hell!!!

And of course, NO ONE in Georgia knows how to drive a car. I-285: Guy goes 85 mph in a downpour thunderstorm, hydroplanes, and causes an umpteen car pile up! A woman apparently stopped her car in the center lane of a 5 miles expressway to do her hair! This caused the the 20 ppl in her lane (including us) to SLAM the brakes as hard as possible. Our car smelled of burning rubber for atleast 15 minutes after that. The car behind us approached at a high speed, so my dad had to get into another lane. A truck was coming behind that hydroplaning car, and the truck driver had to avoid us (truck came in a few seconds after we did, but it had the momentum to hit us). So my dad quickly passed 7 cars and went in front of the hair-lady.

All that in the course of 25 minutes!!!!

ALL school activities were cancelled, meaning I had to wait in the rain for my mom to come at 3.00 PM. By the way, school had ended at 2.10, and we were told the buildings were locked!!! So yeah....a fourh of the school waited on the kerp in downpours similar to those seen on programmes like 'World's Wettest Places: killer rain'. I became SO soaked, my homework is in Wad A and wad B. And all I can read on it is "Circle PQ has a tangent....." and the rest is soggy.

Hope your day was better than MINE!!!!

              Re: Bad Weather

Hello there! Well, it's currently a nice, sunny 82 degrees here in Norman, Oklahoma. (in case you don't know what Norman is, it's a surburban city about 18 miles south of dowtown Oklahoma City. It's also home to the National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center.) However, things are going to change in a few days, and we are looking at a potential tornado outbreak again, but this time, it may hit close to the central and western Oklahoma region. As of now, Saturday looks like a heads-up day for all those living in Oklahoma, Northern Texas and all the way up through Kansas (they don't need more), Nebraska and possibly the Dakotas.
"Ok, I'm gonna get as many as I can on that SW pad there, uh... ok, Amarillo, you're #1, Houston-#2, Albuquerque #3, Phoenix-#4, Chicago-#5, Seattle-#6...

              Congratulations, Seattle!"
