A great way to start with your future to join the military. With the all paid training and great benefits, you really can't beat that if you were to get a job in the civilian life. Has it been finalize yet? When do you plan on going to Officer Candidate School and have you gone thru your flight phyiscal screening? That's always fun since you'll be at medical for 12 hours and 80% is just waiting time, haha. Good luck with your career.

Awesome Jess. Kiwis have a real good reputation overseas so I can only see you improving that.

Thanks for the support Grant. I DO know what I'm doing
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet

First off, congrats and good luck!

Second, be aware that I "expect" you to wish me the same: first round of LH student pilot entry tests coming up in the end of this very month of January!

If I remember correctly you can't chose which aircraft you fly, the RAF select which type of aircraft you are capable of flying ie. fixed wing, rotor or fast jets.

                      Good luck...you'll need it.

I'll be chatting to them about it tomorrow when I go to see them again. The impression I have so far is that they take your desires into account as well. A pilot who doesn't want to be in what he/she is flying is much less use to them than one who's passionate about their plane!

Could do, but I'm more interested in the military side of things for now!

                                Thanks! I'm honoured!

I don't even have that bad of a feeling about it, the computer-based training (provided by the guys who do the tests for LH) I've done so far was mostly a breeze. How does it work for you, are there entry tests or something else to find the people who "fit" in the RAF?
