... because you can go over 110 miles without having some cops chasing your a$$ throughout the country . Had to do business in Frankfurt today, which was decided on Monday, and looking at the LH price, I decided to drive and have my dad come as a back-up driver. SO I woke up at 3:30 a.m. and was on the road by 4:30 a.m. And boy, are the freeways empty at that time . Before questions arise, I drove our Opel (Vauxhall for the Brits) Corsa, which actually is more of a city car. Nevertheless, over 130 km/h, 140, 150, ok, speed limited, back up to 150 again, and then over the Kasseler Mountains. The landscape there can look absolutely awesome with all the frost, too bad that the fog blocked most of the view. So into the Frankfurt area, snow, traffic jam, horray! Doing business for 1.5 hours at our franchise facility, and then it's back to Hamburg. But take it slow, streets are now slippery as hell on the first part. But once the mountains are overcome, it's back to raising the speed, travelling at at least 160 km/h, going up to 185. Can't do that in the US . Ok, you can, but you'll probably land in jail for doing so. Oh, and another interesting tidbit: 474 kilometers with 30 litters of gasoline. Talk about fuel efficiency . If I bothered any of you with this, forgive me, but I had to get it off my chest.
