  • A.net finally realized their off-topic forum's problem

Well at least they get good participation. We on the other hand are stuck in a rut so to speak.

There's just too much animosity there that the problems will continue even if they take out the non-av forum. I still have my doubts that they will delete that forum, however.

      A.net finally realized their off-topic forum's problem

A.net's new poll reads: "Poll: Get rid of the Non-Aviation Forum?"
      Results thus far: Yes - 62.35 % (366) / No - 37.65 % (221)

            Probably just once........

Seeing the type of threads they have there, either they should dhut that forum, or step up their moderation. But then again, i'm not a member of that site, so it doesn't depend upon what I think.

For all those "celebrating" the demise of it, to quote one of the posts over there:

"Sorry, this is an aviation website, why should we discuss about other things than aviaton?"

Does everyone concur that the comment is equally applicable to this site?

I concur. I would be willing to bet there are posters with no photos....

If we just talk about aviation only, then our view would be "very narrow". If they believe they're insulted by some posts on non-aviation, why bother visiting?

I have photos there, and I would NOT like to see non-av go. I was there since before JP.net even existed, since Airliners.net was a site just like this one. The forum has evolved. Theres nothing anyone can do about it.
This forum is already starting to smell the same way. Just look at you and the euro dudes. Its starting, and the flame wars are only gonna get worse.

Any internet forum will have hot topics and heated debates...its just part of life...

Well...I was at A.net from day one and it totally pained me to see that site "evolve" (since you used that word) into the shitter that it has become today. Even the Civil Av forum is becoming unreadable as all the shit from the non-av has seeped there.

To fix the A.net forums, the moderators MUST do their jobs impartially instead pissing around; ban the hotheaded users who lounge around just to incite something; or just get rid of the non-av forum.

Lots of good users have left because of the bullshit from the non-av forum. So you’d lose a few losers who just post there...big fucking deal. People will get on with their lives.

I left A.net and my life went on. If anything, it’s a lot better now.

They should just get rid of the non-av forum, there all pros there now, it just hurts the sites image when you look at the crap posts they have there, or they could just get new mods that would'nt mess round to much, and know when to call a topic quits and close it.. e.g me
