    If Iraq never invaded Kuwait

    If Iraq didn't invade Kuwait in 1990 imagine how different things would have been:

    -Saddam would have still been close with the US. Imagine that, Bush and Saddam shaking hands. Hey, it happend between the US and Saddam in the 80s....BTW the US turned a blind eye to Saddams gassing of the Kurds
    -The US wouldn't be hounding Saddam to decommission and destroy his supposed WMD program
    -This current war never would have happend (duh)
    -Iraq would still be prosperous and free from UN sanctions of any sort
    -Iraqi Airways would still be flying to the US and Europe and there would be expats from the US, Europe, and Asia living in Iraq
    -Baghdad and other cities would have not been ravaged by war and retained their beauty (yes, Baghdad was a very beautiful city, still is to a degree)
    -Iraq would be like Saudi Arabia. Rich in oil, but ruled by corrupt pro-western repressive jerks.

    Now don't take this the wrong way guys, I'm not trying to stir up any anti-Americanism so quit using that lame accusation, my best friends are American. But just thinking back to how things would have been different had the Gulf War not occured.

    Just think about it, and what are your honest NON-OFFENSIVE views.....

    And if you don't have anything good to say but to simply attack fellow posters (hint hint), then get the hell outta this thread. If you fail to do so, then I suggest you crack open your head and see if there's still a brain inside.

      Comebacks? I'm not out to create another war of words with another provocative post. I hope that this doesn't become a war of words, I specified that clearly in my post. I just want to see what others think.....we all have an imagination.

        Yeah, i didn't mean it that way. I meant "replies" when i said comebacks.

        Right now I got nothing to reply to, except for saying that I agree with you.

            Alot of things might be different if one event hadn't happened. Sucha s the assination of the Austrian Archduke which touched off every conflict since then. I'll explain later today if this isn't an insult post by that time.

              And the Iraqis would still be dying horrible deaths from an evil ruler, totured for speaking their mind.

              And....... That damn ugly statue of him would still be standing!

              Let's try another post similar to this one, say,....... What if Hitler wanted to kill all the Chinese instead of the Jews...... What would the world be like now?

                You not read this or do you not have a brain? Can't you just imagine for just a second? Now if you can't just think about something with your God-given imagination without resorting to attacking the poster then that is extremely sad. I've wasted enough time responding to your stupid mindless posts. Take a hike, Go back to school.

                Enought with the grasshopper, it's getting old sewer rat.

                Everyone else here: I hope to hear more of your views. It's a shame that some must ruin things with their stupid words.

                        We wanted to keep this thread nice, but Jeffie doesn't want it so. Sad state of affairs.

                        Anyway, back on topic, yeah it is a what if, so there's no point replying with other what if's.

                        And I can explain the Austrian Archduke part that Greg brought up. His death was responsible for WW1. The treaties at the end of WW1 were responsible for WW2. WW2 was responsible for the cold war, the Korean war, the vietnam war, etc. etc. and the list goes on and on.

                          Yeah and WW2 lead to rise of the US and USSR as superpowers and the Cold War ran Russia down and it fell. The US wasn't prepared to live in a world without he USSR so modern times are the result. End point.
