A concert is rehearsed for, again, and again, and again. Therefore it would be a little surprising if somebody makes a mistake, but as long as he quickly amends it, it's fine. I wouldn't ostracize that band for making a mistake.

"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

NO.
However, that analogy cannot be used here. You would understand that if you for once read what the other person had to write.."The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

I'll make my own analogies thanks.. and use them where I like.
Seeing how you won't play along, the analogy in it's basic form was this:
You would remember a great concert by the fact someone (not always a "HE" as you put it..) flubbed a note or a line in an otherwise perfect performance.
Now, I did not condem anything, just pointing out the fact that if I ever visit Hong Kong, I may remember this foolish lady and 30 tons of trash in an otherwise beautiful city.
Nothing more, nothing less. I am not sure why you so violently take sides against an open conversation. Why is that?

It is because of sarcastic remarks such as this.
......boosting my image of the place already.......

Well anyway, SARS is going down, and that's absolutely great.
Those people who want to visit HK after SARS has blown over will do so, those who do not will not. Period.
Now can we please stop bickering (on this thread atleast)........notice i said "we"."The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."
