You weren't supposed to agree with that. It was sarcasm.

Riiight. Ever hear of Al-Zarqawi? The lead terrorist in Iraq right now? He was there even before we invaded plotting terrorist attacks and working on chemical weapons.
Yes, the chemical weapons that don't exist.

Old? It's the reason we're fighting this war. In case you forgot, we were attacked, and 3,000 of our people were killed. Clinton showed you what you would get after 8 years of doing nothing, and we aren't going to make that mistake again.
So now lets get the whole world to hate us, that will be much better.

Yes, the chemical weapons that don't exist.
This is a different scenario. I don't know if he ever completed any chemical weapons, but he was working on them. He's a bad guy, could rival Bin Laden. Masterminded the murders of many Americans, Israelis, Moroccans, Turks, was planning a chemical attack on Jordan.

          From the BBC-

          http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3483089.stm

He is believed to have set up a training camp in the western city of Herat, near the border with Iran.

Students at his camp supposedly became experts in the manufacture and use of poison gases. It is during this period that Zarqawi is thought to have renewed his acquaintance with al-Qaeda.

          Also, from wikipedia-

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Musab_al-Zarqawi

U.S. officials believe that Zarqawi trained others in the use of poison for possible attacks in Europe, ran a terrorist haven in northern Iraq, and organized the bombing of a Baghdad hotel
Jordan accuses Zarqawi of plotting to release a chemical cloud in Amman. Men were arrested in Amman who purportedly were planning to release the chemical attack.
According to suspects arrested in Turkey, Zarqawi sent them to Istanbul to organize an attack on a NATO summit there on June 28 or June 29.

But there has been NO evidece suggesting there were weapons. The US has stopped looking for weapons in Iraq and have found nada. It's also ironic that the annoucement was made after the election.

There were no weapons in Iraq, thats why both the UN and US found nothing.

The UN inspections should have continued without an invasion and everything would have been ok. And also the US should lead by example and destroy our nuclear weapons, instead of telling other countries what to do when we are guilty of the same crime.

Well, the general populace didn't know who he was, but the Presidents (both Bush and Clinton) did. And I believe that both Bush and Clinton passed up attempts for various reasons.

So with this line, I assume you are saying that Bush/Clinton had the opportunity to take out Zarqawi, but didn't do so for "various reason"...?

Considering the US/UK had absolutely no problem bombing the shit out of Iraq for 12 years following GWI, I find this a little hard to believe. Zarqawi was a nobody until after the current invasion took place and the guerrilla campaign began.

Yep, I noticed that too. Shows that there is no real proof for anything written there.

Destroy our nuclear weapons? LOL! Yeah, we'll be sure to do that once Russia, France, the UK, Israel, India, Pakistan, and Iran(?) give up theirs.

My point in saying that, was that the US shouldn't be telling other countries that they shouldn't have certain weapons, yet still keeping a stockpile.

The thing is, we aren't actually going to nuke anyone. With Saddam Hussein, who used chemical weapons to kill thousands of his own people, nothing was certain.

Nothing was certain? The US/UK had the guy effectively contained with the no-fly zones and crippling economic sanctions. How exactly was he a threat given those circumstances?

Or is it time to flip to the "we had to liberate an oppressed people" line?

You think that Saddam would have hesitated to give whatever WMDs he would have made to a terrorist group? Or even to use them once again on his own people?

Anyways, like I have said, mistakes were made. That doesn't change the fact that we are there now for the long haul, whether we like it or not.
