  • The Pope heads to the hospital

The frail 84-year-old first showed symptoms Sunday, and was dismayed he would have to cancel his regular weekly audience Wednesday, papal spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said. The pope hasn't missed hosting one of the audiences since September 2003.

Despite suffering from what appears to be Parkinson's disease and deteriorating joints, John Paul's schedule is generally busy with audiences, official meetings and appointments, but he concurred with physicians he should clear his schedule, the report said.

There was no immediate word on what led to his unexpected hospitalization.

Even though I am a Catholic, I say just let him go. He did a good job when he had all his facalties, but now he seems to be held up with wires and airbags. Poor old man. Just let him go and get a new Pope.

George W. Bush is not correct. It was Bill Clinton in his 1998 State of the Union speech. HMMMMMMMMM.

What happens if he goes, do they just pick another one, or does that take a long time?

Even if he does get better, he should just resign. But he probably wont have time to resign because he is likely on his last days.
