We've (my dad's parents and my family) been DCX owners since the 1960s. Starting with a 58 Chrysler Windsor through a 67 Coronet. Then came the Cordoba (without rich Corinthian leather :P, crushed velvet instead). My dad and my grandpa had Dodge Omnis at the same time. (grandpa had the hatchback and my dad had a fast back).

My dads Omni was replaced by a Dodge Aries K wagon (this was after he and my mom got married and had me). In 1990, my grandparents got rid of their Omni and got a 1990 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. That was their last car. My mom traded in her 1988 Ford Escort in 1992 for a used 1991 Dodge Grand Caravan. We still have the Grand Caravan, but we don't drive it. The Aries wagon was traded in 2000 for a brand new 2000 Dodge Caravan.

We kept the Caravan until 2003, when we got a call from the dealer telling us it was time to trade. My mom then picked out a 2003 Jeep Liberty. This was the time where the Grand Caravan, my first "car", was ready to be replaced, so I bought a used 1998 Dodge Stratus ES. My dad, who had been driving the Fifth Avenue, got a used 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. A year later, we got a call from the dealer again.

The dealer called us last summer and said that they wanted a good used Liberty on the lot, so we got a good deal on a new 2004 Liberty. (The payments turned out to be $20 less a month for more options) At this time, I decided I wanted a Jeep, so I traded in my Stratus for a 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. The current lineup in our garage is my mom and her 04 Liberty Sport, my dad and his 00 Cherokee Sport, and my 98 Wrangler Sahara.

To this day, from waaaay back in 1958, we've had 3 problems with these cars. The transmission in the Grand Caravan went bad about 3 years ago, after over 150,000 miles. The passengers side axle boot wore out on the Fifth Avenue about 2 -3 years ago, right before my dad traded up to his Cherokee. The other issue was with our 2000 Caravan. About 7 months to a year after we had it, due to a factory defect, the transmission weakend, and we got a fist sized hole through it. The dealer got the information from Chrysler, found out it was a factory defect, and replaced the tranny free of charge, no parts or labor cost.

47 years of Chrysler ownership, and we have had a total of 3 major problems. Other problems we had were due in part to our own fault. (IE: running into the rearview mirror and breaking it off the Grand Caravan, smacking the rearview mirror off by accidentally hitting it with my head, etc.) All of our Jeeps have not given us any trouble. I know Chrysler had some drivetrain issues in the early 90s, but other than that, everything has been fine for us. If anything goes wrong with my jeep, it will be because I broke it by trying to do something while going off road. My parents have told me that after I finish college and they are both retired, they will either get a Chrysler 300-esque car or a Mercedes. And if Chrysler products are so horrible, why is it that M-Bs, Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrylser products always beat the pants off of Fords and Chevy's at classic car auctions like Barret Jackson? Just some food for thought.

Edit: JJR, do you want me fix your Wrangler smiley and get rid of the black background?
      It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand.
