  • Which of these four hotels would you rather stay in?

Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, or Tropicana?

And does anyone know what the AAA discount is at any of those hotels (I know that Mandalay Bay has one, but how much is it? And do any of the other hotels have it, and what is that price too?)

    Thanks a lot

    I'd say the Mandalay Bay.

Same. Luxor is nice (we usually stay there), but it gets crowded & probably doesn't have as nice of a view as the airport.

Mandalay Bay, its the nicest and I don't like how in the Luxor all the hallways are open to the main lobby/casino area. The Excalibur looks a little tacky in my opinion. Mandalay Bay, Luxor and the Excalibur are all connected by a free monorail so their's no big difference on location in the strip.

Well with the distances you are at anyways, it would seem like whichever you stay at wont be good for photos of the airport because of the heathaze.

Mandalay Bay. Nice place, even though it's a bit out of my price range for Vegas right now. Had a nice run at a blackjack table there (after leaving the craps table when they upped the minimums to $10), making $100 in less than 30 minutes.

Luxor is neat, but from what I've seen, the rooms in the pyramid are odd due to the shape. Don't know much about the rooms in the other towers. Is connected to the MB via the Shops @ Mandalay Bay.

Excalibur from what I have heard and read is a dump. When the Bellagio had a blackout for four days last April, they sent guests to the various MGM-Mirage properties, and on the stations in Vegas (I was in Vegas this particular week), they interviewed guests that got put up @ the Excalibur and Circus Circus and they were not very happy at all, as both places aren't exactly even close to the same class as the Bellagio.

Tropicana is where I almost booked for my trip this year (The dates keep changing, but I've now pretty much marked Sept. 18-22 as the dates) until I found out that the cheap rooms are basically like motel rooms, so I decided if I'm going to end up in a room like that, I'll stay @ The Westward Ho ($157.56 for 4 nights), as I really like the northern Strip because it doesn't seem so stuffy (Well at least until the Wynn Las Vegas opens up in late April)

pyramid rooms you hit your head on lol, tower rooms are pretty sweet, but no view of the airport.

Hmm now does anybody know what the AAA discount is at Mandalay Bay or where to find it? Their website says they have one, but if it doesn't say how much money it is worth then I need to find out somehow

LOL. You know you are on an aviation site when you have the choice between 2 great hotels and you pick the one WITH the view of the airport!
THE VOICE OF REASON HAS SPOKEN!
Pop quiz: Which US president said, "Saddam Hussein has spent the better part of this decade, and much of his nation's wealth, not on providing for the Iraqi people, but on developing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons and the missiles to deliver them."
George W. Bush is not correct. It was Bill Clinton in his 1998 State of the Union speech. HMMMMMMMMM.

Mandalay Bay, best positioned for photos of the action on the runways .

No one knows their AAA discount though, huh?

I may stay at Mandalay Bay if I found out their AAA discount (yeah I keep talking about it because $1066 is a lot of money for 4 nights hehe )

Sahara is $49/night for those dates. A bit nicer, but a bed is a bed is a bed.

What dates are you looking at? Regarding the AAA discount, call the hotel.
