Im surprised how little Ive missed hockey. The one thing I miss is the fact that since my favorite team, the Dallas Stars have not been playing, I have had no reason to go to Dallas.

I guess I'm not surprised. But I was hoping there'd be some miracle or something. I don't know what I'll do this spring without the Stanley Cup playoffs.

That sucks...I was hoping to get into the NHL this year (had they had a season)- I tried watching football a few years ago & grew to like it quickly & figured I could do the same.

I'm glad NASCAR can't strike/walkout/lockout.

Wow I didn't think anybody cared about the NHL. There is a lot of better hockey around town and I can actually afford to go.

Well, the Peterboro team sure didn't spend a fortune paying people to come up with a good name so that keeps the CHL costs down

Seriously though, quite a few people I talk to expect there to be a new league formed which will implement "the linkage" immediately. The problem right now is that there is serious reason to believe revenues would shrink by anything from 40 to 60% when they finally start playing again. The baseball lockout some years ago saw attendances down 20% and it should be more for hockey as it is not a big sport in the US. Furthermore, quite a few Canadians too are realizing that watching hockey was a habit, not a passion.

That said, lets organize a new league. I'm a couple of millions short (depending on the salary cap) but I'd still like to start my beloved KW Fog Duckers... oh, and I do have first draft pick (Crosby!)

Okay, now ESPNEWS is reporting that the NHL is uncancelling it's season. IF this is true, i really have no idea what to think. I guess i might watch some games.

I mean, I wrote the NHL off. But I miss my hockey, damn it.

If it does happen, I'm going to as many games as I can, even if the Thrashers don't have Ilya (He's locked into his contract with AK Bars for the rest of the RSL season; Heatley's contract with them he signed last week doesn't.).
