I'm a bit perturbed with the overwhelming trend I see developing on this forum (the Off-Topic forum, specifically). It would seem that the maturity level of many of the posters is on a steady and rapid decline.
I'd like to remind you guys that there is a clear set of forum rules in place for discussions on this forum, and they need to be adhered to.
I've discussed this with Amy, and while neither one of us likes to overmoderate (or moderate at all, really), we have come to the consensus that acting like a child will get you treated like a child here, from this point forward.
In other words, no more warnings, no more pleas to tone down the rhetoric. Any post littered with four-letter words, personal attacks, etc. (of which there have been many, lately), will get you an immediate 30-day suspension from the forum. Ask Cory and Will.
A subsequent offense will get you banned, permanently.
This forum has, in its short time on the web, become a great resource for aviation-related discussion -- one needs to only look at the Aviation Discussion and Aviation Photography forums to see this. It's a shame that petty disagreements between a few people who show less maturity than a two-day old savings bond threaten to ruin the image of the entire forum.
If you guys would like to see this forum become a police state, that's fine. We can handle that. I don't want it to come to that, though. We are all people with a common interest -- aviation. I'd think that a likeminded group of individuals, all passionate about the same thing, could police and control themselves a bit better.
