I'm glad that in less that 3 months I won't have to deal with H.S. anymore.

It's a shame he resorted to violence, but at points in your life sometimes you just get pushed to the wall and don't know any other way out.

The way I think of it is, some people are just born evil. Hitler, Bin Laden, McVeigh, the Green River killer, etc. It doesn't matter what we do to try and prevent something like this, someone will always find a loophole. The best we can do is try to react better.

And I don't buy the bullying bullsh*t. Countless kids are bullied all through high school and they don't resort to violence. Sure, bullying may have contributed, but I think there are many factors to blame for this shooting.

Now that I have graduated High School, my opinion and perception about bullies have changed.

See, I was a nerd and a nerdy looking, skinny guy back in High School but I never felt pissed at bullies. Bullies exist everywhere, in every school of the World. To crack down on bullies and further security measurements taken against teenagers will only fuel their anger and give them reason to do stupid things.

My point is simple: Nerds got to learn to stand up to their problems. Whenever somebody used to bully me, I never hesitated to go up to that person and confront them. I never once got beaten, nor got into a fight. Infact, whoever I confronted, they never bothered me again.

The best method ( in my opinion) of confronting is to confront that person infront of the teacher with enough aggression that the teacher won't get involved in to the equation. This shows bullies that you ain't scared of them or the teachers. Works all the time (In my opinion).
        You only have one life...

Make wise decisions and live freely.

So we should just keep it bottled up inside then eventually we take it to serious like that kid? Is that the thing to do?

I think he was just drawing attention to the truth... I dont buy into this "kids will be kids" thing.... If a teacher sees or hears of somone being bullied..... THEY SHOULD STEP IN..... It shouldnt have to get to the point of violence.... There needs to be some kind of recognition training, and SERIOUS concequences for offenders.... ( maybe thrown out of school??? or special schooling for trouble makers..).. Why should the ones who do thier work, and keep to themselves, be subject to what I think may fall under cruel and unusual punishment???? Theres an old saying..... "The lash of a whip raises welts.....The lash of the tounge crushes bones".....

I heard the same thing. Pretty unusual too, considering the kid was a Native American (Indian). That would be like a black man joining the KKK, just doesn't make sense...

How many people each year are killed in car accidents? Does that mean that we should outlaw vehicles?

How many of the gun deaths are "accidents"?
"The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."

Actually, a large number of gun deaths are accidents.

The difference being that the principal role of a car is not to kill people.

Even if you're bullied now, if you get out of school and work for an airline, all your old friends/bullies will be jealous. Trust me.

Although what this kid did was absolutely horrible and in no way justified, I can see why HE could think he could justify it. I (and probably a fair number of others here) have gone through quite the gauntlet of torment in school. Every day, without fail, some damned group of jocks, each with their own cheerleader girlfriend, will say something along the lines of 'Hey Joe, how's it goin, cool cat?', then laugh at me as I walk by, or even better, flip the whole group of 'em off and tell 'em to f*ck 'emselves. After a while, it really wears on you, particularly if you haven't got anybody else outside of school to turn to. I'm fortunate enough to have joined a wonderful organization - a bowling league - that's given me a fair number of people who'll support me when I go through some tough times. In fact, if it wasn't for two things - bowling and flying - I'd have no friends at all. But since I'm involved in both, I've got a good number of friends...most of them not entirely close, but a few of 'em (and if, for some reason, they're ever reading this, you know who you are) are the best friends that anybody could ever ask for. This kid probably had the same school situation as me, but had no other options besides that, and thus decided to take the path that he did...

                                My two cents...
