  • NASA preparing for Discovery launch; rescue mission could doom space program

NASA's preparing to launch Discovery into space, but if something went wrong during launch which could not be fixed in space, NASA's last resort would be to launch a rescue mission, which could very well end the space program and doom the International Space Station:

Let's hope all goes as planned w/ the Discovery launch.

keep in mind that there is no more risk on this mission then the 100 previos ones(actualy less). we, acroding to statistics and many previos statments before the columbia dissaster, have about 1 loss ~50 missions, which has worked out the last 2 ~50 mission hits...

Well being the article is from U.S Today I take it with a grain of salt. Everyone knows the Shuttle program is old, replacement programs are being worked on and hopefully we'll have a replacement soon.
