  • .9- = 1

    1/3=.3-
    2/3=.6-
    1/3+2/3=1
    .3-+.6-=.9-, ---> .9-=1

    - meens barred, or on forever(.333333333333333333 etc.)

    what pisses me off is that i came up with this when i was 10, but some basterd had the nerve to come up with the same thing before i was even born(same thing happend with the grandfather paradox, but i was 6 when i came up with that one)

    but ya, i tend to think of these things on late summer days(less recently, since i actualy have a job now). i love the way your airways kinda restrict, and that little buz your brain gets when you work on something like this. i feel as if i have acomplished something if i have made my brain go "uh.... ouch". thats when i stop and do reading. i also get that alot when i do physics in my free time(i cant take physics in highschool untill 11th grade).

    See here for 8 billion other ways of proving that: http://www.physicsforums.com/archive..........=1.html

    No seriously, that's very impressive if you thought of that at 10.

    But what's the grandfather paradox?

      The grandfather paradox is one of the most powerful and commonly used arguments against time travel.

          OK how about this one.

          Proof": 2 = 1
          If a=1 and b=1 then

          a = b
          a2 = ab
          a2 - b2 = ab-b2
          (a-b)(a+b) = b(a-b)
          a+b = b
          b+b = b
          2b = b
          2 = 1

              wait, am I missing something??
              if a=1 & b=1 then a2 = 1*2 =2, but ab = 1*1 =1

                The a2 means a squared, not a times 2. Hard to denote the superscript number in the forum. Sorry

                  Oh lol, that explains
                  we generally use "^" to denote power ie: a^2 = ab
