  • Check out my accident!

ok...I was going to pick up my sister from her co-op...and I was driving down a street...A guy (old) 80 years old or older driving a 2005 Saturn Vue stood on the wrong side of the side road to the right. There was a stop sign where he should have stopped. He did not and he was driving so fast that when he T-Boned me....my car span out 2wice and my car is a disaster! I am fine....but I dont think my car is....The insurance of the guy is going to SKY ROCKET!!! and his licence got suspended because in Ontario. If you are 80+ and you get a ticket, your licence is gone. So he got his licence taken away, he got charged for reckless driving. The old guy was so stupid!!!!! how can he just drive like a dumbass endangering others....and all that...just look at the pics...

Did i mentiont that I will be taking the guy to court!!! and it was during my EXAMS TOO!!!! it happened yesterday!!!!!!! and I still have exams until friday!!! arghhh!!!

NOTE FROM MODERATOR: your photos have been deleted for being too big, you can add them back in if you resize them to 1024pixels or smaller, thanks!

Ya, but it'll cost a few grands minimum!

Depending on the insurance and the actual damage incurred, it may be a better option to just write it off and get a new car.

Nobody's hurt though, that's the most important thing. Are you sure you want to take him to court though? He's 80 years old and already has his licence taken away. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt that he actually meant to drive recklessly...maybe his reaction time's too slow for his age?

and yea....hopefully the car is fixable......if not...oh well....the guy was NOT drunk...he was a senior so his reaction time was very very slow...thats why he hit me....

Over on a local street yesterday, and I was with the rescue crew that extracated him 18 years old, racing with another kid.

Try hoping out of Res71cue with the crew saying oh shit this looks bad.

Was his accident bad, yes and no.

Will "writing the car off" be the answer depends, how new the car is? What is it worth, how much damage was done etc etc. But none of us are insurance adjusters here we are all aircraft engineers, and CEO's.

Don't forget the ones who can land an airliner with the pilot incapacitated

first of all...the insurance company...mine....will give me the resale value of the car from the blue book...and the resale value for an alero is 12 grand...so a new car would be $20 grand+ which I will put the 12 grand as a down payment...

Also, if you are old...you should not drive....obviousily he wasnt even paying attention at all....He should be punished.....80 years or even 90, what he did could have costed me my life.......

He is going to court.....sorry...will not change my mind.....he even was standing in the wrong lane trying to take a right turn....DUMBASS!!!

Lots of things wrong and right with your statement.
                        1st What is old?

2nd If you pass the correct test why should you not go out and drive. (yes I know the laws are different from Ontario vs Ohio) I see lots of 18 and 20 year olds that should not be driving also. (BTW I'm 28 )

3rd If you dont pass the test I agree you should not be allowed to drive.

4th Even if you don't have a DL what is stopping people from driving. I see lots of people here in Ohio with no right to drive still tooling down the street.

5th Its nice that Ontario has a "rule" about senior drivers

6th Anyone can be distracted while driving even you.

7th Just Don't Drink and Drive (It does not apply here but it needs to be thrown in)

8th He will be punished, by suspension of his DL.

                        Just to name a few

Did you get that confirmed? The Ministry of Transportation also lists no such thing. All a senior needs to do thats different from any other driver is a 90 minute saftey course when they renew their license. I was looking for information on that a few weeks ago for someone. I couldn't find a thing.

                              It's good you're ok.
