I remember in my younger years I heard and laughed at such a joke from a friend. We were quickly put in place by another of our asian friends who taught us how some things just aren't pronounced the same as they would be in english.

Wether this is the case here, I don't know or care...I'm just waiting for dinner to cook

Hmm... I have many asian friends who makes fun of my name... should I be angry about that? They mean no disrespect and I understand that. Neither do I. Heck, I bet even SHE makes fun of her own name (she probably has to when she lives in an English speaking country)... Personally, I don't think she cares or is offended by this.

EDIT: Of course it isn't pronounced the same... I imagine Sho-Ya Would be pronounced something along the line of Shou-Ia and Wang would be... well, it's hard to explain, but it'd be different from the English pronouncation, that's for sure.

EDIT 2: I'm deleting my last post. I never meant to sound disrespectful. Sorry.
