Alabama says no gay authors

Another great idea from the "Bible belt". While I don't care too much for the "pop" gay community, ( seems like t.v. somtimes tries to push gay as being the way to be) No government body should attempt to take away anyone's right to free press. Just because somone is gay, then does that mean they are not protected by the constitution? If thats the case, then lets see gay people not pay taxes.... They would be important to the government then I bet..

Considering that Alabama does not allow the sale of "sex toys" anywhere in the state, it wouldn't surprise me if they were stupid enough to shoot themselves in the foot. With laws and attitudes like this, I can see the gay population avoiding the state of Alabama when making vacation/travel plans.

It seems queer culture is being thrown into the arena of antisocial acts. What has been done to criminalise the media which contains, and/or encourages violent and criminal behaviour?

I realise some people will want to force the world to embrace Christianity and live according to the gospel, but there should be an element of "free choice" involved.

I think the term "he needs to be shot" was not meant to be taken literally. But realistically, his view of the world is completely wrong...I'm glad you can at least see that, seeing how so many republicans also happen to be some of the most homophobic on the planet...or in some extreme cases...the exact opposite!

From what I understand this bill was killed as soon as it reached committe (per an a report at A.Net's non-Av forum). While I am not a big fan of Alabama I can't imagine Alabamans being so stupid as to shoot themselves in the foot like that.
