  • Sin City -- your thoughts?

    Hello,

I watched Sin City last week and found it a rather unique movie.

To begin with, this movie gives a whole new meaning to the word 'violence'. Some people have told me that the violence level reflects that of Kill Bill but since I have not seen that movie, I can't comment on that.

I like the idea of making a black and white movie but having select things in dull color. Also, the fusion of modern and old things made it a very nice movie visually.

But I must admit, after watching the movie, I was wide eyed for a while. There was way too much horific kind of man slaughtering. Overall, I rate it as a good movie not intended for the easily scared.

On a whole I thought it dragged on at times, and the violence was a tad (just a TAD) excessive. But there were several scenes which were quite amazing and worth paying the 7.50$ for.

The first scene is AMAZING. So is the one where Bruce Willis finally kills himself.

I thought it was a good movie. I liked Clive Owen's and Bruce Willis' stories the best. Yes, it was a little gorey, but what do you expect from a film that Quentin Tarantino is involved in. As far as reflecting the violence of Kill Bill....again Quentin Tarantino is involved in both. Most of his movies are violent and bloody. I've heard that SinCity 2 and 3 are both in the works.

I haven't seen all of it, but so far its pretty cool. I didn't think it was too horrific, a lot of the dismemberment was in black and white and the blood had a glow in the dark appearance, overall it didn't look too real. I reckon they tied too many people's stories in, but I haven't seen the end do they all meet up or what?

As far as gorey movies go, I though Final Destination 2 was the most realistic.

I'm fine with gore, but it didn't "fit" in here like it did in Kill Bill. It wasnt bad, but I didnt think most of it was all that nessesary.

Oh yeah...I'm in love with that girl with blue eyes at the end.
