      The moon part showing is obviously blown out, so...

      Does your Rebel have a histogram feature on the LCD playback?
      If it does, use the histogram to check exposure.
      Keep re-shooting until it shows no over-exposure.

            Yeah, the 75-300 is rank when it comes to chromatic abherrations. I usually just select the area that's affected then play with color saturations until it doesn't look like poo. That being said, once I get a job, I made a deal with my parents so I'm gonna be able to pick up the Sigma 50-500 here soon.
