Eurosong/Eurovision Song Contest is an event held every year, where members of the European Broadcasting Union sing songs to get points. Whoever wins the contest hosts the next years show. As this years winners were Turkey, the two Eurovision Song Contests will be hosted in Istanbul

I Eurovision! Am listening to the whole thing now
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Yes, Aha! The picture is taken from the set of his chatshow "Knowing Me, Knowing You". That was 1994, unfortunately his career has not been so successful since... (Hopefully he'll bounce back soon)

Russia are launching an appeal over the Eurovision vote. They got no points from the UK or Ireland. Ireland did not use its phone vote as the results were not available in time, and used a jury vote instead. Because Russia were only 3 points behind Turkey, the winners, Russia say that if the Irish phone votes were used they may have one.

Maybe the Irish voters would have given the UK some points too?
