So it occured to me while listening to the radio that I would be quite thrilled if she fell off the face of the earth. God do her two songs "Hollaback girl" and "if I were a rich girl" suck ass. She really should not be allowed to sing anymore. I think even scarier than bush being re-elected is that those two songs are up near the top of the charts which means people actually like them.
Thank god I have yet to hear "Hollaback Girl". "If I were a rich Girl", feat. E-V-e, word!, and "What cho' waitin' for?" were already bad enough. No Doubt made some good songs, but Gwen Stefani on her own just plain and simple blows. How everybody keeps saying she will be next female superstar is beyond me.
The only thing I noticed was the stupid japanese wannabe stuff in the "I ain't no hollaback girl" video... I watched it last night...
Could be because I broke my foot yesterday after flying a power kite/parafoil and I wasn't in a good mood at all... but...
"That's super kawaii!" wtf?!
If you are over the age of 20 then these music videos are not for you. Her songs are great, they are ctachy and great to dance to. Do you really think that we analyze the lyrics? Do you think we care? NO, if it is a good beat and we can dance to it, then it is all that matters!
By the way, unless you can look as good as she does in a cheerleader outfit or even in a pirate outfit, then shut up about it!
I am a Gwen fan, liked the looks of her before No Doubt got popular. But this new dance thing is just over the top. Why is she dressing up like a cheerleader, when shes over 30 years old? Thats the only part I dont agree with, shes not a teenager, shes twice the age of cheerleaders in highschool. she still looks great, but you can tell that shes starting to show her age.( shes still hot as balls) I think she'd be better back in the punk/ska anyway...

Actually, I think its pretty sad that in todays music most of the lyrics are total crap, the songs have no passion, all they are is catchy and good to dance to. It sucks that now rappers would rather rap about their money and what they do in the club than when they used to rap with intelligence about important issues. It sucks that now pop music is all about catchy songs that are totally retarded. ect...

A. She looks like a retard in her pirate outfit
B. She doesn't look that good in the first place
Wu Tang Clan: best rap group of all time
Save hip-hop, bring talent and intelligence back into it

I don't know if that one was meant for me, but... It's annoying that every time a girl says something bad about a female pop star she gets "you're just jealous" smeared in her face, even if what she says make sense.
I DON'T think Gwen Stefani looks good. I would like to have a body like hers (less anorexic maybe), admitted, but I simply don't think she's that pretty.
Secondly, I like ONE of her songs. that's it. The rest, is in my own opinion, not something I would be proud of :/ I probably can't do it better, but I do expect something more than what I can come up with from a SUPER STAR, I'm sure everyone else does too
Alright, everyone that has replied to this post and thinks that Gewn Stefani sucks then reccomend a replacement for her, and for those that hate her songs, reccomend better ones...
I think that she is great, her songs are not that bad and she is very attractive. Yeah yeah yeah, she is in her 30s but how many 30 year olds do you know that can appeal to that many teens, look that good and still manage to launch a very successfull solo career? It's really easy to sit here and say that she sucks, but come on, the reason why she succeeded is becuase she is unique and she had very little or no competition in getting where she it today. To be blunt there are no others like her that coulld do better thatn she is doing now!
Also, I will be the first to agree that this music in the past decade has began to suck lyrically, but the truth is that the public prefers music that is catchy, with great tempo, that makes them get up and dance. But that does not in any way mean that lyrics have disappeared in today's music. There are many great songs out there, its just that they do not possess the sex appeal that Gwen and the other chart topping divas have.
Also, just for curosity's sake, how old are you guys?
I admit a breakdown of the word "bananna" on Hollaback Girl isn't the most technically advanced of lyrics, it's nothing like the calibre of lyrical brillance produced by Kurt Cobain.
But isn't Gwen Stefani a bloody beauty, she casts a spell on me in her cheerleading outfit, and also in the other video how she's on the pirate ship, and you see a glimpse of her panties. now that's what it's all about
"Don't Speak" was the only Gwen Stefani/No Doubt song I've ever liked. Since Gwen's gone on her own though, her music has been really annoying. "Hollaback Girl" is retarded & sucks ("The sh*t is bananas...b-a-n-a-n-a-s...WTF?), "Rich Girl" is annoying, especially the video (what's the point of the lyrics "Original Track Ending" placed in the middle of the song?) & "What chu Waitin' For?" is bad.
I guess it probably wouldn't seem as bad for me if it weren't so common, but I hear "Rich Girl" at least three or four times a day, with "Hollaback Girl" thrown in occasionally.
