What is this site coming to?

It has been a couple of years since I stumbled onto this site. When I first got here I was amazed by the forums and by the way that communication was freely expressed. I loved the fact that there was little or no tension and disrespect, and that everyon was bascially well respected for their views. Of course there was the AvB wars but personal attacks were non-existent. Now, in every post there is a personal atttack and a fight and a quarrel.
But why? What brought us to this point where almost everyone has an enemy and everyone else is a super opiniated ass?

We always say that Airliners.net is bad, but we are getting there preety quickly.

Apart from a few pointless threads leading to confrontations once in a while, I still think this forum is still quite healthy. Even responses in that Weapons in Space thread is well tempered. It's just that people seem to have quite opposing views...

Online jerks are on every forum and the best thing to do is just ignore them. Some people are just out to stir up trouble and then sit back and watch the fireworks while others enjoy being e-thugs toward anyone they can.

JP.net isn't nearly as bad as A.net or another forum where I used to post. Sadly the jerks basically took over that forum (not A.net) and have been running off anyone who doesn't hold their extremist views. But really that is a topic all its own.

Doesn't seem too bad. Yes, now threads are having to be locked and such, but not EVERYONE is attacking people. There is just a handfull of people who have a habbit of chewing people out and being a$$holes occasionally. The rest of the stupid/abusive things said are mostly just people defending one another after someone does start a personal attack. The majority of the members on this forum seem to bring no trouble imo.

Its light hearted humor for the most part... (yes i'm not blind and I can see some harsh personal attacks from time to time)...

Some people cant "get" that type of humor but alot of member here can and so of course we try to wind each other up a little, its not meant to be nasty... its supposed to be funny...
