  • Is South Africa a rich country?

Alot of what we get to see on TV about the place makes it seem to have first world standards, so can it be classified as a wealthy nation? they even offer immigration.

Told ya you would like it...............

LUNN just dont bring your 15 year old virgin sister there. 90% of the local with the HIV/AIDS virus think that having sex with a virgin will cure them.

        No Virgin Airline jokes here.........

well its a well know fact the locals do this practice. Be it on their own community or on anyone they can find.

I think the thread starter was asking more about their urban economy though... I'm sure this would be a minority, if any, in urban centres

I dunno, I've read alot about SA and although they do have a fairly problematic HIV epidemic (28% of the population affected) I have not heard of this strange practice.

Maybe if we stopped refusing to send condoms and family planning information to Africa in general they would be a little better off.

i would have to say, cape town is one of the nicest cities i have ever been to(nicer than alot of US cities i have been in), and it seemed to be pretty well off from what i saw(i was in the area, spacificaly namibia and batswana, for a moth, and they did not seem as bad as most people make them out to be). but yes, i loved south africa, and just so you guys know, CPT and JNB have extremely nice, clean, and well designed airports.
