  • Teen dies in graduation day crash

    http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/new...4?OpenDocument

This is just simply awful. No alcohol involved or anything. all were wearing seatbelts, just a misunfortunate accident. may she rest in peace

Just hours after graduating from Freeburg High School, a teenager described by a classmate as "just the nicest girl in the world" was killed when the car she was in hit a tree and bridge support along a country road.

rip it just proves that even the safest drivers are vulnerable. i had a friend who was probably the most cautious driver around, and he was killed in a wreck in march.

it's not so bad if a lone drunk driver, hits a tree and dies, but in cases like this it's sad indeed.

              It's truely sad.

Last week some school kids for hit by a fire truck they were trying to get around. They were off for a camping trip and cut off the fire truck which lost control and ended up on top of a little Accord.

This happens quite alot when people rush things. When I went to driving school for skidding, it was amazing how well a car can keep its grip, and then soon as it starts to slip, it goes off pretty fast.

She was probably being stupid and careless... no on just runs off a road and hits a tree when they're going the speedlimit and watching the road.. Chances are she was probably being reckless in celebration of her portentous graduation..

She wasn't the driver, the driver survived the crash. The Prom King was driving, he lost his legs.

It seems something like this happens every year. A similar incident happened on my brother-in-laws graduation day.

Would you say the same if your brother was in that car accident? I mean think, if you heard your brother died in a wreck, I am sure you would be mourning and that stuff instead of thin king "oh god, he was being stupid and a jackass and wasn't paying attention. you wouldn't want me to say taht about your brother if I heard that. it is rude.

looking at the article from what i read..

The three were northbound on Lunch Road when Lengerman apparently lost control. Light skid marks indicate he slid off the left side of the road.

I have lost control of my car and I was going the speed limit. Sure I may have been driving fast, but it was still the speed limit, maybe a sign it needed to be lower?

Reitzell and Quirin were ejected, even though investigators said all three of the car's occupants apparently were wearing their seat belts. Lengerman was pinned inside and had to be extricated.

I am curious how this happened? Because if your seatbelt is on, your pretty much stuck there. So who knows.

The crash is under investigation. Sheriff's investigator Thomas Trice said speed might have been a factor, but there was no evidence of alcohol.

well they braked, so I am guessing something ran in front of them. when they skidded, they lost control. possibly going to fast. but I wouldn't say carelessness.

                          Still very sad all around.

Yeah its sad.. but i'm not going to be one of those people who are like, "Awww.. .. RIP!"... The fact is, someone in that car did something they shouldnt have been doing. Maybe they were distracting the driver, who knows. I'm not just gonna frown and say RIP... i'm saying the things people rarely ever say, when infact, they should be said more.
