  • French Lefties say no....All is not well in "La La Land"

    http://apnews.excite.com/article/200...D8ADJQ6O0.html

"Polls, analysts and voters confirmed that some French casting ballots were looking to punish a government they feel has failed them.

About 55 percent of French voters opposed the constitution. A poll by the TNS-Sofres firm suggested that fear for jobs and a sense of being "fed up" were the main reasons to say no. France has a 10 percent unemployment rate and those in the "no" camp have claimed the constitution was too market oriented to protect citizens, growing vulnerable in an expanding EU."

I guess this says a lot eh?

They were not only lefties, the pricks who voted no are a combination of
    -disgruntled socialists
    -the commies
    -the far left BUT ALSO
    -the far-right
-De Villier's sovereignists, also in the right side
-Pasqua's RPF (Rallye for France), a dissident party from the presidential's one
Except for expressing "sh**t" to the president, not a single of their reasons was valid.

Just watch the Dutch people do the same thing tomorrow, especially after seeing the results in French. The government is encouraging people to vote without influence of the French results, lol.
It will be a long long long time from now before the constitution is adopted by all 25(and counter) members...

According to polls only 4-5% of the people say that the results in France influenced there vote.

We are likely to vote no (polls say 60% will vote "NO") because many people here think it's going to increase immigrants and decrease the work availability. Sad thing is, the constitution has little to do with either.
This "little misunderstanding" is caused by our government which sat on its ass too long doing nothing to inform the people properly.

As for me, I am still in doubt on what to vote.

Dutch voters feared an increase of influence from France over the EU bodies should their French counterparts would have voted like me on the right way, aka YES. Now Dutch voters have on hands the results of the ballot and what comes behind. They have more good reasons to vote YES and make the whole process keep forward.

Well, our "government" tried to convince (or more accurately: scare) the general public to vote for the constitution by claiming Europe would have a war on its hands if they don't. Suffice to say people don't like to be pressured like that.

Furthermore, lots of people equate 'Europe' with bureaucracy, overpaid civil servants, silly regulations and unwanted interference with national politics.

I have absolutely nooo idea .
In all honesty, if the politicians asked the people here in Germany, we would likely also vote no. But our opinion doesn't matter anyway, and in the end, it will still be Germany that pays most of the EU bills .

Exit polls show a 63% against the constitution result. About 63% of the people voted.

Well, so much for this attempt for a european constitution.

Ahhhh...in other words, Socialism. Good for the French and the Dutch for voting this joke of a constitution down.

                      Bye-Bye, EU

Well it is kind of difficult when the bureaucrats are selling off your country and catering to every minority. Oops, that's Canada, now about the French......
