Good luck trying to teach them Abstinence, they're only human so no matter what you tell them they will have sex. Make it safe sex and this will save alot of people.

It's christians isn't it, it's just some of the many strange ideas some of them have, getting them to think normally is like trying to get blood from a stone

Not really. There are some pretty understanding christians. But alot of people think like this. Everyone knows that people aren't going to stop having sex, and nor should they stop having sex, but I don't know why people can't try to push for a reasonable solution. The pope's attitude is kind of like saying
-"I got hit by a car crossing the street"
-"Well then don't cross the street"
Sure, crossing the street can be dangerous, but it's pretty necessary, you just have to be careful.

I am one myself. I am not to fond of the pope either. I think its stupid of him to deny access to condoms. But pope is just following what his rule of law is. no one has to agree with it, but just at least understand it.

Its a good thing we don't all hate people based on what their opinions are on this issue, otherwise I would say I hated the original poster of this thread.

The idea he is basing everything he does is that the church was most like the way God intended it to be at the beginning and everything that is happening to try to change it is diluting its message and making weak Christians. Buy into it or don't, but don't knock it.

I hate to stick my nose in all of this but....

My mom's trying to raise me as a Catholic, but until now, I didn't know anything about it so I just went along with it. So now she pretty much has to force me to go to church every week because I have to serve mass (altar server yuck). I've been doing it for a while and she uses the excuse of what I'm doing to do for my community service for school (Catholic school, see what I mean). So anyways, I really don't like Catholicism and having it being pushed on me. The pope is stupid for thinking this. If he REALLY wanted to help people, he'd start by trying to PREVENT AIDS instead of allowing it to spread. Some real "hero" he's supposed to be.
