  • OT: pick up at 30,000ft

    Hi all,

I had a most interesting flight back from Brisbane a couple of days ago. I'd like to be the first to say that I am not the most overt poof (jk). Infact, most people don't even realise that I am till they ask why I don't have a girlfriend. Most of my mates are hetereo and I'm your typical pub-crawling kinda guy.

So what happened on my QF flight was a bit of a surprise. A male FA came over to give me my glass of chardy (perfectly accompanied the fish meal) and in the one movement, also deposited a piece of paper with his name, phone number and days he had off work.

I really thought nothing of it and was a nice boost to my confidence. However, when I was waiting for the loo, he came up to me and asked whether I'd be free for a drink after the flight. Naturally I was flattered but turned him down.

Anyone else have any such experiences?

    Tim

Bugger, I should have removed the pride sticker off my forehead then. Bit of a give away, ehh?

Alas the only thing I have on my carry on is the QF and Flyertalk luggage tag.

By the way, I am not going to ask how you came by that pic. Even I would be too embarassed to have that displayed.

Yeah, once when I was about19. I always wondered if I broke his nose. I know my hand hurt for about three days straight.

yeah, I guess you are kinda a lost cause eh?

I dont prefer dudes, but if I was approached by one I'd be willing to bet a "no thanks, I'm straight" would do just fine.

Some guy asked me about something to that content and I said not trying to be funny in any way at all I said "Uhm..no thanks I don't bend that way.."

well the guy started laughing hysterically!! I mean tears pouring down his face! I said what did I say something funny? he said u people always think we gay guys "bend"...

i had shifty eyes and was like....ya ok sure..and walked away.

edit- I have no idea if I said something wrong. I wasnt trying to be too funny. I had a feeling he was gay but didnt know for sure, so i said bend to word it differently....

Yeah, well, I think any minority group will face oppression from any corner of the room. Personally, I am possibly the most un-PC person on earth. If anyone's going to make fun of bad asian drivers or poofs, it would be me. Luckily all my mates are the same too. After all, my nick name is P1 = Poof 1.

However, if I get pushed too far, believe me I have no qualms in swinging back. I don't just have my third dan black belt as a lovely accessory. Plus, I when you're a hockey goalie, it's not because of my pretty face.

We are all free to believe in whatever we want. We can crack onto whoever we want. I started this thread to be light-hearted and enlightening, not into a heated discussion over the morality of one's impending damnation. I get plenty of that every Sunday when I am refused communion. So lets lift the spirit a bit.

This thread was started not purely for toey gay FAs, but also if female FAs ever cracked onto you, VV.

Yes, coming from a guy calling himself an emu, I guess I could be. Oh well, lost it is.

So are you saying you've been with some, but don't care one way or the other? No preference would imply having tried both.....

Actually, I said exactly what you say you would have.. "No, I'm straight.." Now this occured as I was leaving a stall in the men's room at a department store, after I politely said "No.." he put his hand on my shoulder to push me back in, that is when his nose started to bleed and my hand started aching.

                        .
No I haven't, nor do I plan on it.

Sounds to me that you punched him cause it was in a bathroom and he tried to hold you back, which puts you in the right. In that case I would have done the same thing, but if you just read the part that you typed in your other post it makes it sound like you hit him because he was gay and that you were proud of it.

You sound like a typical homophobe. Most people grow out of it, but for you maybe it'll take a little longer.
