  • Google Earth, WOW!

Admittedly, I stole this link off ad.com, but I though the kids on here might have some fun with it, too :

Google's new global software just keeps getting better .

I installed it a few weeks ago and it's brilliant. I spent a while on it looking at all sorts of places around the globe. The direction tool is very clear and easy to use, also very handy.

That's awesome! I really like it! Look up some of the major airports & you get a clear view of them & all the activity going on at that point in time...I'm looking at ATL right now & it's incredible.

Their photos are a little old. In my neighborhood my house isn't even on the map. My house was built in 2001!

Must be just for some areas then, because our house was built in 2002, and it's there...not blurry or anything.

Could be. The images on both Google Earth and Google Maps range from 2001 to 2004. Google is constantly expanding and updating both, though I'm confident you might get more up to date images if you buy the full version .

Google Earth is awsome! You know how it has the streaming thing with the percentage? after you've loaded an area to 100% does the program remember that the next time you visit the same place?

Any of you guys know NASA WorldWind? That's a great program, too! The highest resolution sadly is restricted to some major urban areas in the USA but there you can do planespotting from a satellite . Just see for yourself.

This is a part of LAX:

Very interesting to see all the carriers which operate into the big American airports.
