  • Mysterious Package Alert Notice from FedEx

    Life is indeed really funny.

My mom and I went to get some candy around 14.00 today. When we got back home after 15 minutes of being out, there's a FedEx notice on our door which says that some one tried delivering a package, but we weren't home. A common occurance, right? Nope! The only thing that was scribbled on it was the tracking number at the very bottom of the sheet. I plugged in the numbers at www.fedex.com and guess what? The package is from Jacksonville Florida and was sent on May 30 through overnight delivery. First off, overnight is not 4 days. Second, we don't know anyone in Jacksonville. Not even a corperation that my dad invests in, or anything. I asked my mom, and she's out too. I know I am not expecting anything. We live in Atlanta, so its a bit of a distance. Dad denies any involvement with the state itself for the past 5 years. But FedEx is confident its ours. Our family is not really well known or even social for that matter, so it cannot be from some long-lost relative. We know some one in Miami, but he didnt send it.

So now, all of us are confused and none of us expect a package...really fishy if yopu ask me...

Can't open it...they have not delivered it to us just yet. We went out, and the 'we attempted to deliver, but u were not here' thing was on our door.

screw it, i'll ask my sister to open it.

Ask the police Bomb Squad to do a leisurely stop to your house to assist you in opening it!!

Most package delivery services will not leave a note until the third unsuccessful attempt at delivery. The package likely did arrive within 24 hours but no one was at home to receive it. No real mystery there.

As for it coming from Jacksonville, keep in mind that many mail-order companies keep regional warehouses that may not be in the same location as the central office. Likely someone in your family ordered it or it is being sent as a gift.
