    I admit, I'm in on it all and thought about going to a midnight launch but ended up pre-ordering my book at a grocery store instead. I just finished reading the most recent book yesterday, so I am pretty excited! (Before you make fun of me, remember my age)
    Thanks,
    Michael

      It's a pretty sad society when such a comment is necessary. People should be able to do whatever they enjoy doing without being judged by others.

          Yeah, I love the books, but I'm not going to stand in a large crowd at midnight and party all night...that said, I will try and shove my way past the hordes of excited Harry Potter party folks, grab (as in purchase legally ) the book and leave

            I don't really get whats so big about Harry Pothead err... Potter, it's a book, there will be plenty of copies to go around. Whats the point of going out at midnight just to get a book. And after the people that are out there at 12 am get it, they will be so tired from staying out all day and night that they will just go home and fall asleep and not read anything anyways.

              As the practical guy that I am, I know that I will most likely read a novel once, then it goes into permanent storage. If I do plan on reading the book, I'll get myself in the library waiting list. It'll only take a year... and it's free

                I'll get it in a week or so (or ask for it for my 19th birthday the 21st next month) But I'm DEFINITELY gonna get it... the books are well written, and I like the harry potter universe.

                  Even the pope "wants one".

                  "the Potter books corrupt the hearts of the young, preventing them from developing a properly ordered sense of good and evil, thus harming their relationship with God while that relationship is still in its infancy."

                  * 1billion!

                  Man he's a nob, why won't he let people enjoy themselves? Firstly where all told not to have sex out of wedlock, now we can't even read innocent books, whats next!

                    Oh you'd be surprised...me and a bunch of friends (incase you were wondering none of us are little kiddies ) went out to buy the books last night...got to Barnes and Noble at midnight...it was too crowded, and we'd have had to wait atleast 2 hours or so to get the book (since we hadn't pre-ordered or anything)...so then we decided to try Walmart, which was closed (lazy buggers)...fortunately, there was a Borders Bookstore nearby, so we tried there. There was far less crowd there, and we had to wait only about 40 mins to get our books - by this time it was about 1:35 in the morning...at which point we proceeded to Barnes and Noble again, strolled past the tons of people waiting in the huge line outside the store with our Borders bag in hand, and then went home.

                    ...and then I read till 3 in the morning and finally slept.

                      I'm just glad I don't work at my old employer anymore. When the last book came out, we were ordering cases of it in reorders for some of our shops on a daily basis. I remember we received five pallets of the book, and this was for every bookstore and newsstand @ ATL (Even newsstands that didn't carry hardback books got several cases of the book.). We had shops where we left a dozen cases of the book and sold through them in two days!

                        We had a security guard at Superstore for twelve hours yesterday guarding the books...apparently, some smart guy in BC (who works at a Superstore, by the way) put out about a dozen HP books a few days ahead of time...which were promptly bought. The company was offering a signed copy of the book to any of those willing to come forward and return the book

                          Your right, but that was more or less just put in there as humour. But I must say you have a point. If I knew this was being read by people at school, I can't say that I would have been as open about it...I don't think I would have even replied at all. Thats just the way I am, I always want to fit in, but here I dont really care as much so I can be myself.

                          True, but for alot of people, and myself the two weeks they give you is not quite enough to read a 600 page book.
                          Thanks,
