What if you're a foreign guy wearing a big coat and carrying a rucksack to work, and had to run for the train because you'll get fired if you're late one more time?

God knows! I was more interested in knowing how one would decide if they "looked a bit foreign".

Not really. Sure, London has dealt with the IRA and radical groups like that over the years, but we have had many attacks by similar "homegrown" as well as foreign groups in the US over the years. Abortion clinic bombings, Atlanta Olympic bombing, radical hippies in the 70s, New York LaGuardia bombing, Columbine, etc. Can't forget Oklahoma City, the Khobar Towers, the US Embassies in Africa, the USS Cole, and the first WTC bombing in 1993 or 1996 (can't get the date straight). It is naive to think that the US was not dealing with terrorists prior to 9/11.

which is probably why the French and Germans decided to avoid a military presence in Iraq, they know what the terrorists are capable of.
One of the most ignorant statements on this thread. Are you suggesting that the US doesn't know what the terrorists are capable of? They only commited the largest act of terrorism in modern history on our own soil not even four years ago...Not to mention the countless other bombings over the years. Or did you seem to forget that?
