We have lower rejection levels for rare shots (old, brand new, special paint scheme, accident, special situations etc).

            this picture is from 1981!

Wow , even I have to admit that this is a pretty bad shot. Now I could understand if it were in the db well before the screeners were in place, and indeed Quebecair photos are a rareity, still a little adjustment in PS would certainly bring up the sharpness level. Indeed, I am very suprised that this was accepted regardless of the uniquness of the subject matter.

As for Johnathan's refrence to 1981, please bare in mind that inexpensive high quality tele lenses were almost non-existant during that era (I should know) and what few zooms that were around produced often less than acceptable results, especially on slide film. Most pros of the time steered well clear of zooms preferring higher quality fixed focal telephoto.

I'm not a photographer but I thought it wasn't all that bad given it is from 1981. Maybe Braniffnut could pass on his advise. I wonder if they take constructive criticism? (Even worse I remember those acft coming to YYZ when I worked in Cargo. They parked opposite the warehouse on Terminal 1)
