• Record Groundhandling!

Today, my crew turned a KLM 747-206SUD in 38 minutes, offload and onload! Just thought I would share that! I am very proud!

      Record Groundhandling!

Forgot to tell you it was a "ferry" flight stopping by to head on out to maint. So, a crew, no pax, no baggage...

      Thats decent time really.

        Record Groundhandling!

Coyote, It was actually full, around 400 pax inbound and 300 to 400pax outbound also full cargo! It came in real late, around midnight and had to leave before curfew!

Cool to know. Im curious on what an average time for turn around would be in this situation for that load.

I worked as a ramp rat at FedEx for a while loading and unloading, but thats a completely different thing. usually, those planes (for the shift i worked) were parked. So, there was no rush. Unload, sort freight, load the outbound. Generally, most times I was on my way home before the flight had to push back and go...

WOW that's Southwest fast and that's a 747. It's things like that which make an airline successful.

That is a "Southwest Style" turn you guys did! My personal best was 12 mins on a 737-700......137 off...full crew change...137+3 on. The captain told me it reminded him of the good ole days!

12 mins on a 737-700, congrats! I just love the feeling of being done our part of the job before the catering and boarding is complete!!!! By the way I work on on 737-800 daily and it is a killer, good old BWIA average of 270 -320 bags, all around 20-40KGs each!!! Gary, congrats! You must have a great crew!

The only record I have; Bag count of 602 on SY DC-10.
