  • Red Cross and MSY

Now is the time for all of us to stand up and help support the relief efforts in New Orleans, Biloxi and across the southern United States. The American people are always the first to show up at any disaster around the world and give it their all.

The American Red Cross needs our help. In Canada we can make donations online at www.redcross.ca. Check with your local Red Cross or Red Crescent and lets give to the people that always help us.

I'll usually toss some thing in at the bank when I stop by. They usually have a collection box or something in the branch.

Europe/Canada/Asia/South America have really been helpful, or at least they have all offered help to us. I believe we have turned most of it down, which blows my mind. We need all the help we can get right now. Anyways, I saw that Canada was sending around 100 Red Cross personel, Europe was offering assistance and even Russia and Venezuela were offering to send us some oil.

Regardless of what the ill-informed among us have to say, your help is greatly appreciated.

On behalf of all of us, thank you for caring.

Ontario (I haven't heard about other provinces, maybe they just don't report it here as much) also usually sends utility workers as well. Hydro One is ready to send down workers to help get power up when ever they get called. Not sure how long thay've done that, last couple bad storms they have anyway.
