a really OLD shot, I should add. None of that "KOOL" or "Player's" stuff are visible now.

I would like to go down there eventually though.

We'll get beaten by Ottawa, but we'll get them in the Playoffs again.

I don't care if Edmonton Airports doesn't appreciate it. I guess that just teaches you to not surf the Internet while you're at work, doesn't it? But then again, that takes brain cells to figure out...an area in which you seem to be lacking. Face it, this is the Internet. If I post a signature that you don't like, you can come to me and POLITELY request that I change it. Now you're never gonna get your way. And I don't care if someone has an "I" on me. It's certainly not sounding like it's at all as bad as someone keeping an EYE on me. Big freakin' deal.

I have had numerous "home towns" throughout my life, moving every three years or so. I have lived in Europe, Hawaii, New York twice, and am on my second stay in North Carolina. I have loved everywhere that I have lived. However, the only place that I have the true "home town" feeling for is the place which I just left, after spending the best four years of my life. That place is Watertown, New York.

I have so many memories of Watertown, good and bad, but I would give almost anything to be able to go back and relive any moment of my time there just for the sake of being able to see my beloved city again. There isn't a day that goes by down here that I don't think about and miss what I left behind. My friends, my house, my life. I never realized how good I had it there until I left it.

The city was small, maybe too small for some, but I loved it. Down here everything is chaotic and spread out. There are no sidewalks in my neighborhood, and everyone seems to keep to themselves. In Watertown, even a half mile from the city center where I lived, things were much more peaceful and hospitible. Tall trees lined the streets, which were straight and the intersections were actually perpendicular. The houses in my old neighborood were old, many built in the 1800s, but the owners made sure to keep them immaculate. There were sidewalks, large front yards, and the roads were almost never busy. I would often walk and gaze in awe at the historic homes and their beautiful properties. It was the nicest part of town, but the people weren't stuck up. They were average people, families of doctors, teachers, lawyers, and military personell. They weren't all retirees as is the case here. There was actually some semblence of normal everyday life there. The most expensive house sold in the city's rich history, with marble floors and a two story library, which would have been worth millions somewhere else, sold for $475,000. You can't even get a condo for that in some places.

There was one public high school for the city, which was only a few blocks to the south. To the north lay the 12 story state office building, the second tallest in the city, as well as the libarary and the numerous shops and restaraunts of public square. All this within a 10 minute walk from the peaceful neighborhood that was my home. About 5 miles away was the mall, as well as the main chain street with all of the well-known national chains. About a mile to the north of me the Black River ran through the city. About 20 minutes from Watertown was Carthage, where I attended school for the first year that I lived in the area. We moved into the city the next year and I spent the next three years in the Watertown School District, but I can still remember going to the football games at both schools on the cold, blustry autumn days. Those are some of my best memories from my time there. I had a great group of friends, we did so much together, mainly because everyone was pretty much walking distance so it was easy to. Watertown's people were some of its best assets.

An hour down the road was Syracuse, with a metro population of 770,000 and home of Syracuse University. I remember going to the football games in the Carrier Dome, and going numerous times a week for the shopping and great restaraunts. I remember a few months ago when the NCAA Basketball (Quarter?)finals were held in Syracuse, and I saw the buses carrying the four teams under police escort heading to the Dome. I remember the bright sunny days walking through the Syracuse Campus and downtown area, as well as the cold and snowy ones, which I valued just as much. I remember the white Christmases, and trudging through 3 feet of snow to cut down the Christmas tree. I remember the short winter days as well as the long summer ones...There are so many memories that I cherish from my time there...I can't help but remember a new thing or event every day that I am down here.

Why did I request to be banned from the forum? It has everything to do with New York. I miss it every day, and I believe that the only thing that can quench my longing will be my return there. I would rather live in the shadow of the life I loved than try to forge a new path in places unknown...Going back is probably the only thing that can make me happy, and my only way to go back is to get into and attend Syracuse University. That is the reason why I was so worried about not meeting that goal that I requested a ban in order to get my priorities straight. I am giving everything I have towards that goal, but I don't know if it will be good enough. However, that just details the effect that my beloved hometown, and its larger neighbor, has had on me. I won't be complete until we are reunited.

Damn, I ranted again...I'm sorry, its just a little withdrawl, once the DTs and hallucinations go away I'll be back to my old conflict-stirring asshole self. It had been a while since we have had a good debate on this forum.
